THINGS GOD HATES WITH ALL HIS HEART
Deuteronomy 18:10-11, “There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.”
The Bible is very clear in teaching that contacting dead spirits, communicating with angels, casting spells, using Ouija boards, and many other practises are not only dangerous but are an abomination to God. This means He hates these things, detests them, and is utterly against those who use them or do them. He will never tolerate these things in His Church or in His people. The following things are practises that can never be blessed of God, are not from God, and will always lead into greater darkness and deception away from God.
1. THAT MAKETH HIS SON OR HIS DAUGHTER TO PASS THROUGH THE FIRE – In ancient Israel the false practises and religion of the god Moloch were found in their land and communities. Very often it claimed to be the same religion as the God of the Bible but it was not. One of its practises was making children to pass through the fire. In extreme cases the child was killed. But normally this practise meant they dedicated their child to Moloch in this religious practise. Any religious practice where you dedicate and consecrate your child to a religious ceremony, celebration or system that looks Christian, but contradicts the clear teaching of the Bible is an abomination to God.
Beware: abortion (killing the baby in the womb and thinking God is ok with it), false pagan rituals in schools, practising Halloween, involving children in Islamic, Hindu, or Pagan practices, Catholic infant baptism, First Holy Communion, confirmation, etc.
2. DIVINATION – the practice or art of discovering hidden knowledge and foretelling future events by visions, strange rituals, observation, or other occult supernatural means. This information is usually given in return for money. These predictions are often filled with flattery, lies, deception, or threats and are frequently claimed to be gifts from God but they are not. God is the creator of the universe and He alone knows your future.
Beware: psychics, fortune tellers, Ouija board, crystal ball, tarot cards, tea leaf reading, dream interpretation, etc.
3. OBSERVER OF TIMES – same as astrology or stargazing. It is another form of divination. It is a person who looks to the stars for guidance. They believe that the stars hold the answer to directing your future, giving you guidance, and bringing you blessing. God alone should be our guide and the Bible is filled with guidance from Him which is pure and holy.
Beware: astrology, horoscopes, numerology, palm readers, etc.
4. ENCHANTER – A magician, sorcerer, or one who chants. A person who casts spells, makes prophetic proclamations, who mutters out enchantments, or uses mantras and special words. Someone who uses words claiming they have power to bring things to pass in the physical realm.
Beware: yoga, meditation, mantras, hypnotism, subliminal messages, New Age Medicine, spells, etc.
5. WITCH – a person who is a member of the ancient pagan religions of witchcraft. They practice magic in association with nature, sacred stones, or drugs. They may claim to practice either black or white magic. There is of course no such thing as good white magic or good white witches. Both come from Satan.
Beware: wicca, white or black magic, casting spells, etc.
6. CHARMER – to put a spell upon someone or an object. To either curse or bless. To charm an object, a piece of jewellery, an animal, to use a charm to heal, get rich, to have good luck, or to gain a relationship.
Beware: occult symbols, talisman, amulets, crystals, New Age positive thinking and confession; etc.
7. CONSULTER WITH FAMILIAR SPIRITS – one who asks, demands, or desires to communicate with a spirit. A familiar spirit is an evil spirit that this person claims to have personal access to continually, to possess, or who dwells with them. They may claim it is a good spirit, an angel, or some other spiritual power. He speaks to it and it speaks to him, it guides or gives information.
Beware: spiritism, ascended masters, communicating with Angels, invisible spirit friends, orbs, ghosts, religious statues and idols (Mary, Saints, Buddha), etc
8. WIZARD – A male witch sometimes called a sorcerer. A member of the pagan religions of witchcraft. Practices magic in association with nature and is considered a wise one. He uses the magic arts as a religion claiming they are the original religion of the land.
Beware: Visualization, sorcery, mantra, astral travel, clairvoyance, sorcery, voodoo, etc.
9. NECROMANCER – To use any means to contact a dead person or a spirit claiming to be a dead person. Mediums claim that they are contacting the dead, but they are really contacting an evil demonic spirit that is pretending to be the dead person. This spirit may reveal information which only a certain person could have known but it is a deception.
Beware: mediums, Ouija boards, automatic writing, seances; channelling, visions or dreams of the Virgin Mary, trances, etc
